Most people have a nagging feeling that things are not exactly how they should be. Sometimes things happen that cause that feeling to grow, and we have trouble reconciling how we think life should be with how it actually is. Counseling can help us sort through those feelings, understand our challenges, and heal from hurtful and destructive experiences.

I am a Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner and a hospital chaplain and bereavement coordinator, as well as a certified grief counselor and have training in trauma healing. I interact with people coming to terms with loss, death, and trauma daily. I hope to help them through the grieving process to heal from the trauma that they have faced. I work to come alongside people and help them cope with the emotions and experiences they are having.

After raising my own children and having a variety of life experiences, including living cross-culturally and teaching elementary school and high school, I became a counselor and chaplain. This wide variety of experiences helps me connect with people on a realistic level and empathize with the struggles they have. As a Christ-follower, I also see the value of spirituality and can incorporate that into the counseling experience if clients are interested. Additionally, I see the impact that some toxic faith practices can have on a person’s life and mental health. I love working with people wrestling with questions of identity and how their faith affects their lives, but I also serve clients with very different beliefs who do not want to discuss faith.
