I am a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I have experience in working with clients with a wide range of concerns such as depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, parenting problems, career challenges, addiction concerns, substance use, self-harm, and trauma-related concerns. I have a history of a seminary education along with my Master’s in Counseling. I work with a Christian perspective to counseling. I believe that counseling can initiate change in a persons’ life and that God helps along that process.
I look forward to working with you along your journey. I believe that God gave us wisdom, but sometimes we need someone to show us the way or be an advocate for us through certain walks of life. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe that genuineness and competence need to be present in the counselor in order to help facilitate change. I believe in meeting a person where they are in life, and I believe that every person should be treated with respect and compassion. I utilize a multi-theoretical approach to counseling. I primarily focus on using Cognitive Behavioral therapy, as well as Psychodynamic Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Rational-Emotive Therapy. In addition to these theories, I use a humanistic approach to counseling. My approach is designed to work with you as the individual. I will work alongside you as the client to collaborate in creating goals and treatment plans that are designed to meet your specific needs. It takes courage to step forward and seek out counseling. The best things in life are often on the other side of fear. If you are ready to take a step toward a more rewarding and fulfilling life, I would be happy to support you and empower you every step of the way. I look forward to working with you as you take the next steps in your journey!
