“It’s in the granularity of the narrative that we surprisingly come to see the truth of our entire lives.” – Adam Young.

Each of us has a story, and how we understand our story influences our present experience and shapes our future. Exploring your story in therapy will help you work through current struggles and draft a more fulfilling future. I’d be honored to do that work with you.

I am a Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner in the State of Nebraska and a married father of three active tweens/teens. I have a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree from the Townsend Institute for Leadership and Counseling at Concordia University in Irvine, CA. I also have Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Western Theological Seminary in Holland, MI. I am a certified Enneagram coach through Your Enneagram Coach and a trained Prepare/Enrich facilitator. I am also working on certification as a Gottman Marriage Therapist. Before becoming a counselor, I served in church ministry for about twenty years, focusing primarily on youth and adult spiritual formation and pastoral care. My background in student and adult ministry contributes significantly to my current work with adolescent and adult clients.

The constant theme throughout my career has been helping others explore their story and discover their identity. My goal in counseling is to work with my clients to identify and address the underlying factors that contribute to their struggles, focusing specifically on attachment relationships, boundaries, consistent belovedness, and stage-appropriate tasks. While my graduate training emphasized person-centered, cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, and narrative approaches to therapy, I use an eclectic mix of therapy modalities to meet the specific background and needs of each client. Some of my areas of interest in counseling include couple and family concerns, mood disorders, developmental trauma, and spiritual abuse.
